Mayuko Fujino is a paper cutout artist, who currently lives in the Asakusa district of Tokyo in Japan. She finds inspiration in wandering through Tokyo, observing landscapes and birds.
Her first artistic influence began with traditional Japanese stencil dyeing, but by the end of 1999, she began teaching herself paper cutout art.
Mayuko is the first artist to be honoured with the Best of the Best designation, as a result of House of Scratch’s inaugural December 2008 Exhibition. There was also enough interest in her work, garnered directly from her involvement in the show, that allowed her to make a sale. Congratulations Mayuko!
