Callie Badorrek taps into life’s monsters making them a little more human. With a touch of humor, her gargoyles explore a full range of emotions, the light and dark sides of human nature. Callie-Anne Badorrek is highly influenced by science fiction and fantasy worlds. She lives in Hagerstown, Maryland, with her husband, six cats, dog, and ferret. She received a BFA in Studio and Exhibition Art from Campbell University in 2003, and completed the Graduate Certificate in Ceramic Arts at Hood College in September 2008.
Callie is the third artist to be added to the growing “Best of the Best” list here at House of Scratch. Her work runs the gamut of human expression and emotion with its toes dipped in biblical and philosophical pools as well. She was chosen as “Best of the Best” by public opinion from the February 2009 Exhibition and we couldn’t agree more. We look forward to hosting Callie’s work in the upcoming Inaugural House of Scratch Physical Group Show. Congratulations Callie!
