House of Scratch recently applied to have the Inaugural Physical Gallery Group Show hosted by the Hang Man Gallery. We weren’t surprised when the answer came back positive!

Located along Queen Street East in the historic Riverdale district of Toronto, Hang Man Gallery is a rustic space with exposed brick walls and large recessed windows allowing reams of beautiful natural light to spill in on the artwork without the hazard of direct sunlight.
Hang Man Gallery has offered us a three week window of space during the month of October which we have accepted. More specifically, we’ll be showing our lucky Best of the Best artists from October 6th 2009 to October 25th 2009. The opening is tentatively scheduled for the first weekend of the show somewhere around the 9th to 11th.
Stay tuned for more updates!
PIERRE-LOUIS ACCIARI’S ‘FEAR’ AT LATITUDE 44
March 17th, 2009
We’ve had a few surprises while working on House of Scratch (most of them technical or internet based) but we received a most pleasant surprise this weekend while out for a walk.
On one of her many jaunts on the TTC, Cath spied from the bus window some artwork that seemed familiar hanging in a local gallery. That weekend we went out for a walk to check out just what she’d seen.
Our feet took us to the doorstep of Latitude 44, a gallery and framing /decor shop at 2900 Dundas Street West in the junction area of Toronto. Upon entering, we immediately recognized the work hanging on the walls.
It was none other than Pierre-Louis Acciari, an artist practicing in France who sent in his work to House of Scratch and was accepted into our inaugural December 2008 Exhibition!
The exhibition is entitled “Fear” and features more than a dozen of Mr. Acciari’s original paintings and digital prints on canvas and will run until the 21st of March.
It was fantastic to see paintings that we’d only known as jpegs on the internet in vivid, brilliant, real-life colour. Pierre’s paintings are bold and gripping, grabbing you in their macabre embrace, forcing the viewer to confront Pierre’s ideas about death and fear. They’re really quite striking and I’d suggest everyone who is able to to go and have a look while they can.
The owners and operators of the gallery, Janice and Marianne, allowed House of Scratch to take a few pictures of the exhibition.
